Ferrell Hollow Farm
Senior Retirement Horse Boarding
We are an established Senior Retirement horse farm located in Middle Tennessee and specialize in providing exceptional care for the older, retired horse. We accept senior residents throughout the country with special needs such as Cushing’s, Insulin Resistance, Arthritis, and Dental Challenges just to name a few.
Each horse receives individualized care, custom diet plan and special attention.
Many extras such as hoof trimming, worming and grooming are included in the monthly board rate. The owners live on the premises so horses are always monitored.
Consultations regarding nutritional and special needs are available to non-residents by phone and/or email.

Unfortunately I am allergic to cut hair, so when it is time to body clip one of the Cushing's horses, I must suit up! The humidity, heat index and temperatures are sky rocketing again in a few days, and I just could not let Eagle continue to wear his woolly bear suit any longer. Eagle is a tall and lanky 26 year old QH who is as sweet as they come. Growing excessive hair coat is a symptom of his Cushing's Disease. He will normally be body clipped Spring, Summer and Fall.

I have found another great use for Ferrell Hollow Farm's Lavender Wound Spray!
When it is time to wash the dirty, smelly fly masks and fly boots, put them in a large tub, cover with water, and pour a splash of the Lavender Spray in and let sit, preferably overnight. Then scrub and dump the water. You will be pleasantly surprised at how clean they come and how good they smell, even after they are dry!
