Who We Are
Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse & Cat Sanctuary cares for senior horses and senior cats that would be considered at risk of neglect or abuse if left in their current situation. Most often, they will be considered special needs, and require a great deal of time and resources to care for, but still have a good quality of life, making them appropriate for sanctuary care. Upon arrival an assessment of their physical, mental and emotional status will be conducted. Once brought into our program, they will remain in permanent sanctuary care for the rest of his/her life.
Cindy Myers
Founder
Founder Cindy Myers oversees all aspects of both the Horse and Cat Sanctuary daily. Since the year 2000, Cindy has been working with senior horses, focusing on their unique and challenging issues, striving to always give them exceptional quality end of life care.
In 2017, Cindy started a Senior Cat Sanctuary program which focuses on rescuing cats over the age of 15 who are in local shelters or surrendered by owners no longer able to care for them. Offering sanctuary care to senior cats allows her to work with yet another population that is often overlooked, rarely adopted, and at risk of euthanasia in shelters.
