About Mac

Meet Mac: Our Graceful Gentle Giant

Mac is a 26 year old magnificent gelding who has found his forever home at Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary. Rescued from an owner surrender situation, Mac has journeyed from uncertainty to a place where he is treasured and loved. His transition to sanctuary life has been seamless, thanks to his friendly personality and gentle demeanor.

At approximately 18 hands high, Mac commands attention with his striking appearance. His beautiful coat and expressive eyes tell a story of resilience and hope. Since arriving at our sanctuary, Mac has quickly become a favorite among both the staff and visitors. His laid back nature may make him appear shy, however he is eager to share his warmth and affection with others.

Mac loves to spend his days grazing in the pasture, basking in the sun, lying in shavings and enjoying the company of his equine companion Johnny. He is always eager for a good scratch under the chin or a treat. Mac’s calm and nurturing presence provides a sense of tranquility to those around him, making him a delight for anyone who meets him.

At Ferrell Hollow Farm, we are committed to providing Mac with the love and care he deserves. He symbolizes the spirit of healing that comes from second chances. We invite you to come and meet Mac, where you will discover that this gentle giant has much to offer. With each passing day, Mac continues to inspire us with his resilience and affection, reminding us of the profound bond between humans and animals.
