Our Mission
Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse & Cat Sanctuary is a 501c3 Non Profit Organization, which allows for tax exempt donations. Our mission is to advocate and care for special needs senior horses and senior cats in need of a sanctuary setting, that are not afforded adequate care and would be considered at risk of neglect or abuse, if left in their current situation.
Bert
Bert is a 30 year old Belgian gelding we pulled from a kill pen and he arrived 1-20-19. He was a work horse and in very poor, emaciated condition upon arrival. His ribs showed, he had no muscle on his topline or on his hindquarters and his chest bone protrudes and sags. He also has mites on his leg feathers and lice. He has been de-wormed, treated for lice and seen by the vet.
Bert lives with Martha and Tom in a large pasture. He has issues with aggression towards people mainly coming close to him, so we are working on trust and respect with him.
He requires senior feed, hay and a lot of TLC to get him healthy. Currently Bert's care is costing $450/month for feed, hay, and supplements.
