Max

Sadly Max passed away suddenly in his sleep July 5th, 2018.

Max is a Percheron gelding estimated to be 25 years old.  He went thru several auctions, purchased by dealers and then deliberately starved while waiting to go to kill auction.  He arrived very emaciated and with a respiratory infection.  He does have some significant neurological issues as well as a lot of scarring on his body.  Since his arrival, he has had vet and dental evaluations and regular hoof trims. We think Max had a terrible accident, possibly involving flipping over, as the upper teeth on the right side are not meeting the bottom teeth and growing outwards.  He also has what appears to be a back injury which has left him with some neurological deficits.  Max can be fearful of new things, but he is doing well with loving care!
