Our Mission
Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse & Cat Sanctuary is a 501c3 Non Profit Organization, which allows for tax exempt donations. Our mission is to advocate and care for special needs senior horses and senior cats in need of a sanctuary setting, that are not afforded adequate care and would be considered at risk of neglect or abuse, if left in their current situation.
Mikey
*Sadly Mikey passed away April 27th, 2018
On September 29, 2013 we welcomed "Little" Mikey, and he is anything but little! He is 20.1 hands tall, 30 years old and is a Belgian draft. Mikey worked as a carriage horse in Key West, FL his entire life, until he was no longer needed or wanted and turned out for a year with no care. He worked with his sister in FL, but was separated from her and was traded for a car. He was to be sold to be put back into work, but a nice couple intervened and kept that from happening.
Mikey has Chronic Progressive Lyphodema (CPL) which affects his legs, and will always need daily care for that condition. He has an old injury on his left hind leg as well as some arthritic joints. He had separation anxiety from being taken away from his sister, so he needed a place where he could develop a lasting bond with others.
